Yes the 95 is a transition year on those cars so it could be obdii or obdi. But an obdii scanner will not plug onto the obdi port.
But it did not use OBDII it was actually known as OBD1.5 by normal people although gm called it obd. Anyhow you need a scanner set to read the 1.5. It’s a real pain on 94-95 gm cars. Just found a wiki on it. check it out. Another option is look in the pontiac forums to see if someone can help.

How do you check the trouble codes on a 1983 cutlass supreme?
engine is a v6. it has an obd 1 dlc on it. my scanner goes only to 84 i tried it anyway and it didnt work. the dlc has only 5 pins in the connector. couldnt jump a to b to read the flashes. terminal b was missing. Did gm use a different obd system before 1984? is there a way i can get the codes? engine is not fuel injected has a 2 bbl carb.

radiator fans wont come on and car idles weird?
My car started idling weird out of nowhere and i noticed that my fans arent coming on. Not even with the AC turned on. I scanned the car with an OBDII scanner and Its giving me a code for the MAP(manifold absolute presure) sensor. Can this sensor be affecting my radiator fans and weird idle? please help

I have a 98 chevy malibu 3.1liters v6 and it ran hot, how do u know if it a cracked head/ blowed gasket/intake
It ran hot. I replaced the water pump because it was leaking. when he replaced it he said i had a cracked head or blown gasket or a intake gasket needed to be replaced.At first the oil and water wasn’t mixing,now it starting to. I fill it with water now it won’t crank I think it too much water on the spark plugs. I ran it on a auto scanner because check engine light came on it read P0300.Any advice or is it best to get another motor.

What is the difference from diagnostic machine and scanner?
Car has been stalling.{92 buick la-saber le,3800. ]Mechanic does not know what is wrong.Have changed plugs,gas,gas cap,found and fixed a lose vacuum hose,still stalls.One garage says they have a scanner one has a diagnostic machine.[All the light come on when it stalls.]What is the difference and which one is better?Any help is much appreciated!
Seems to stall more when you are slowing down to turn or stop,but not always.Can sit and idle and not stall.Coughs some first but not always.sometimes stalls with no warning.Thanks in advance.

I can tell you have an automatic. Seems the transmission is slipping. Check transmission for burnt fluid [you'll know by the smell] & level. No Joy? Start shopping for a transmission shop

i got a p0700 code from my obd 2 reader? transmission control malfunction? help?
my 99 jeep cherokee had the check engine light come on then it started jerking when i would drive and it wouldnt shift properly. i plugged in an obd 2 and it returned these codes: p0700 transmission control malfunction, p0733 3rd gear ratio incorrect, p0732 4th gear ratio incorrect. is this a cpu issue? what do i need to do to fix it? what parts will i need? help!!!!!

95 bonneville obd read?
I have a 95 bonneville with a obd2 plug but the scanner will not connect to the computer. Is it obd1and if so how do I check it?
